So, in case you haven't been following it, the University of Illinois has a mascot/cheerleader named Chief Illiniwek. Of course, this has become a hot button PC issue - apparently because the University of Illinois is more vulnerable than the Washington Redskins.
In any event, per the Chicago Tribune, sports pages for January 18, the Oglala Souix tribe has demanded that the University return the Chief Illiniwek regalia to the tribe, because the use of the regalia is "disrespectful." Remember, it was in 1982, that Sioux Chief Frank Fools Crow presented the university with the regalia. Putting aside the fact that there is no Constituional Right to "respect," this does sort of give a new meaning to the expression....
(wait for it)
