As we watch the Democratic presidential nominees go at it hammer and tongs, every now and then we have a "you can't make this stuff up" moment. Hillery v. Barach, played out in All-American imagery.
So, we have the Kentucky Derby. Hillery decides to make a Chelsea photo-op out of the event. Hillery sends Chelsea to the race, with strict instructions to wager on Eight Belles to win. Why Eight Belles? Because Eight Belles is the only filly in the race. Get it - Hillery is showing her feminist credentials - she "has to" support the only female in the Derby. (This is all true, by the way. You can't make this stuff up.)
Of course we all know what happened.
Eight Belles came in second.
She lost to BIG BROWN!
And who is Hillery losing to?
Just saying.
BTW: After the race, Eight Belles broke down and was euthanized. No one is suggesting that this parallel be carried that far.....
